What items do you pick up?

The recyclables that we deal with for Bottles and Cans – are referred to as bottles, cans, PETE and HDPE also known as CDU’s (Container Deposit Units) and also often identified as all units that display a 10c refundable logo.

The Recyclables for North Western Metal Recyclers are ferrous scrap metal – light steel, oversize and insize and non ferrous such as copper, brass, aluminium, batteries stainless steel etc.

Are there any fees for your pick up services?

Yes there are.

In regards to collecting refundable bottles and cans, we charge a service fee (pick up fee) of 4c per refundable unit, in turn, you will receive a 6c return for each refundable item.

In regards to picking up scrap, there are no fees.  However, we do not pay for scrap when we collect it.  If you wish to be pad for your scrap, please bring it to our yard on Oborn Street.

What days & times do you pick up?

We currently collect between 9:30am and 1pm Monday to Friday (subject to change), Public Holidays Excluded.

We can’t offer an exact time so please be sure to leave a description of where you are leaving them when you place your booking if you are not going to be present on the day.

Do I put all my bottles and cans in a bag?

Yes, bags are preferred, large garbage bags if possible.
Please ensure all bottles & cans are empty, in a clean condition and all lids & straws are removed.

If you are storing your cans and bottles in smaller shopping bags, we kindly ask that you fill a minumum of 10 bags before booking in a pickup.

Can you pick up scrap metal at the same time as picking up my cans and bottles?

Unfortunately, no.

Because of the varied size & weight of scrap metal, a larger vehicle may be required.  Please book 2 seperate pick ups if you need cans, bottles and scrap metal collected.

Do you pick up non-refundable glass like wine bottles and jars?

Yes, we do, only when picking up your cash deposit cans and bottles.  We can’t collect them on their own.

We will take your non-deposit glass e.g., wine bottles or jars that have been cleaned with no contents inside.

What is a Statement By Supplier Form and when do I need to fill one out?

A Statement by a Supplier Form is a form that you need to complete if your refund is $82.50 or greater.  This form is a legal requirement and must be completed before a refund can be given.

You must specify on the form the reason for not quoting an ABN.

What is a Container Declaration Form and when do I need to fill one out?

A Container Declaration Form is a form that you need to complete if  there are 3000 or more containers being recycled.  This form is a legal requirement and must be completed before a refund can be given.

You must declare on the form that all containers were purchased in SA.
